• Read the story to your child

• What was scary about the dark house?
• Who else was in the hall?
• What was in the dark room?
• Who is looking in the dark cupboard?
• Talk together about the toys in the cupboard, which is your favourite?
• What was in the box?
• How does the story end?

Beyond A Dark, Dark Tale:

• Using the torch, find some dark spaces to light up in your house
• Talk together about other sources of light
• Do you think the black cat will chase the mouse?
• Have a pretend tea party with your toys
• Together can you make a nest for the mouse in the pack?
